EMDR: Recover your life
Take Your Life To New Heights!
INTENSIVES
Life is full of challenges, for all of us. We all need some assistance from time to time. During an Intensive EMDR session, you will fast track your healing and growth. EMDR therapy is a unique therapy designed to re-wire the brain as you adaptively process life’s small and large challenges.
What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a unique type of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.
About EMDR Therapy
“Our brains have a natural way to recover from traumatic memories and events. This process involves communication between the amygdala (the alarm signal for stressful events), the hippocampus (where safety and danger memories are created and stored), and the prefrontal cortex (which controls behavior and emotion). Some events are so upsetting that the normal communication between these areas becomes blocked and cannot be processed without help. This stress response is part of our natural fight, flight, or freeze response. When distress from a disturbing event remains, the upsetting images, thoughts, and emotions may create feelings of overwhelm, of being back in that moment, or of being "frozen in time." EMDR therapy helps the brain process these memories and allows normal healing to resume. The experience is still remembered, but the fight, flight, or freeze response from the original event is resolved.” (from www.emdria.org)

BENEFITS
Immediate Relief
Resolution happens in days rather than weeks, months, or years! Traditional therapy happens once a week, usually requiring months or years for effective treatment.
Cost Effective
Therapy is concentrated and highly focused. Transformational healing work occurs with a far fewer treatment hours than would be expected either with traditional talk therapy or a symptom management approach. The time and work is more efficient and requires less session time and less cost. The transformation/healing occurs due to memory reconsolidation via trauma resolution, which occurs rapidly and does not require spreading therapy out over months or years.
